If a person can find someone to work with, and push each other in a positive way, I think that has the potential to work well. My son and I are both about 450 pounds. We've done every diet imaginable, and so far, we've lost about 2,000 pounds each. Well, the same 150 pounds 13.33 times. We're looking forward to getting our book and trying what seems to be a more healthy, long-term approach which may be really beneficial to both of us.

Good luck to you! I have an extra 40 lbs I'd like to drop so we will see if this works for both of us. It seems reasonable but I have a hard time with diets as I had a severe eating disorder for years as a teen/young adult- I never really got a good handle on how to eat without packing it on and now in my 40's it is tough slugging. I tend to be a healthy eater but obviously too much. i would rather be heavy than "Dying to be thin" but it would be nice to find a healthy approach and feel better about myself physically. here's hoping -

I haven't received the book yet but I'm about 100 lbs over what I would like to be and probably about 120 over what the "charts" say I should be for my height.
I've done lots of different diets from Weight Watchers to Diet-to-Go (prepared meals) and I can lose some weight but can't keep it off or lose any appreciable amount.
RE: the Monday Morning Memo (in case anyone is reading) - the photo of "Joe" one year ago and today look like two totally different people and not because of the weight difference. The face, hair, everything. It really looks like two people standing in the same photo. Just sayin'
Believe me. I would love The Full Plate Diet to work.

I believe that having an accountability partner is very important to succeed. I'm hoping to get one of my closest friends (also overweight) to take me up on this challenge. Either way, she does know that fiber is now another friend of mine!

I also need a partner to be accountable to and would love to be a friend of your so we can both get through the tough times

Hello Everyone, I am new and am now currently reading the book. I would love to have an accountability partner to write to everyday so that we can keep each other on track and talk about what we have eaten, etc. that day. I think the book is great and I know that we cannot look at it as a diet. To lose weight and be healthy, you have to want to make a lifestyle change for good. That is why so many people fail at diets. They go on them, lose a few pounds, then go off the diet and gain it back and more. The Full Plate Diet looks like it could be something someone could follow and make a lifestyle change on. Someone want to work with me? Let me know. Looking forward to hearing everyones comments. God Bless!

Hello, 2010 is here and a different outlook on my health. I bought the book on a whim, but really felt it was for me. Eat healther and lose weight. I think I can do this. I feel real positve about it and I am taking baby steps to increase the fiber. I remind my self the weight is a long term deal and take one day at a time. If I blow it then I start over, but never give up. My first week I lost 2 pounds. I need over 100 pounds to go, so if anyone is out there keep up the support.
